How to be a good friend

Friend means something different to every single individual in the world but a friend to me is someone
who you can rely on, lean on their shoulder and trust them. Just imagine a world without friends! It would
be pretty lonely. Whether you agree or not we need friends at all times of our lives, especially to talk to so
that's why I am going to explain how to be a good friend. 

At times you have more than one companion, every so often one of them gets left behind, you would
probably consider that they don’t care and they are doing something else, well the truth is they do care
they are feeling unhappy and assume you have forgotten about them. Another scenario could be that your
classmate is too reluctant to play with both of your associates so they figure that they should just stay
behind. To fix this, you could just introduce your companion to your other friend and make sure that you
are doing what everyone else wants, this will build trust, respect and closeness in your friendship, your
friend will feel more appreciated, secure and lively around you.

Understanding is a big part of being a good friend if you don't know how to understand your classmate
you would probably have a hard time figuring out what to do with them. People aren't the same and a lot
of kids do not have so much in common with their mates so it's really hard to find out what to do. If you
want to have a good time with your friend then you should keep in mind to be the good guy and see what
your friend thinks you should do, maybe you will start to like doing it even if you thought you wouldn’t.
This is a tremendous approach to introduce new people to your school and try new things.

Helping out people is a fantastic method to start a friendship. If someone in your class gets stuck in work
supporting them or buddying up with them would be a good way to get to know them. When they are a
bit puzzled on their work you could ask if they want assistance, then swoop in and give them some extra
knowledge. This is a perfect technique if you are looking for a companion, or trying to get your reputation
up.

In conclusion,  to be a good friend you need to be inclusive, understanding and supportive. If you try at
least one of these methods I assure you that you will have a better friendship with one of your mates or
even make a new friend. One interesting fact shows that chimpanzees, baboons, horses, elephants,
dolphins and whales make friends, and not even from the same species!

The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas

The boy in the striped pyjamas is a very sad book based on a boy named Bruno who is very wealthy since
his dad is a commandant that works for The fury (Hitler) They had to move from their nice house in
Germany to a lonely house in Outwith where there is no one to play with Bruno and his sister Gretel. Bruno is adventurous and he decides to take a walk where he ends up finding a place where there are lots
of people in striped pyjamas. He takes a closer look at one of the figures who turns into a boy that turns
into his friend Shmuel, they visited each other nearly every day but both of them could not pass the very
big fence that kept them away from each other. Shmuel was always hungry so Bruno would bring him
food. One day Shmuel complained to Bruno about his “papa” not coming back, so they decided to help
him by digging a hole to get to Shmuels side of the fence to find his“papa”, they ended up going into a
place where they got locked in, then a mysterious gas poured above them and that was the end of the
story. I recommend it for people at the age of 10 and up because it is very emotional and not suitable for
younger students.

How 1080 kills animals

1080 is an extremely hazardous poison found in various lethal plants around areas of the world.
It is meant for killing stoats, rats, possums and other distinctly hostile popularized animals. but
rather than killing them 1080 has also poisoned horses, sheep, dogs and other innocent
animals that die for no reason. 

1080 is the short word for sodium fluoroacetate and is usually drunk by wild animals, the effects
of the body before the animal dies is excruciatingly painful. When an animal has even a low
dose of 1080 they start to lose appetite, completely drop body coordination and lose the ability
to stand. As the toxin enters the Kreb cycle it blocks a certain part and starts to kill cells, after
that they struggle to breathe, lie down and slowly but painfully die.

Although 1080 kills animals, it does have its good sides. When New-Zealanders drop 1080 they
kill nearly one hundred percent of rats and possums in their zone. According to results, over
seventy morporkes have been monitored in current years and not one had died from the toxin.
1080 also does not leave residues in the environment, it naturally breaks down.

In conclusion, 1080 can painfully kill animals and humans but it has exceedingly and
exceptionally lowered the number of stoats, rats,  possums and dead animals in the area.

Room 4 science

Room 4 science

In term 2 room 4 has been learning about science, we have made catapults, towers and marble tracks, my favourite thing we tested was the hoop gliders. The hoop gliders were made out of straw and paper, we tested them using a fair test that is a test in which you test one or more things to see what is the best but give them the same amount of resources so that it is fair and easy.

When we made catapults we tested them in the class where there is no wind. We tested them in the same place so it is fair, we also put a dot in the place it first lands. The test wasn't about what catapult can launch something the longest,  it was about what catapult launches the same thing in the same place so that it doesn't launch something all the way across the room and the next, right in the corner of the room.

Shipwrecked

Kalani sat on a rock with Agent Koko alongside her helping to open coconuts for breakfast, Kalani looked out to the mist feeling the nauseous groan in her stomach “homesick?” Maddison said “y-yeah a little.” Kalani mumbled, “ you've been here for 2 months now I thought you would be used to it.” Maddison claimed, Kalani replies with “yeah I'm getting used to it, but you would still have that one feeling inside you that misses everything back home right?” “ Yeah every now and again” Maddison added. Kalani had finished opening every coconut and laying on the half made bamboo table, Kalani started to stick the helpless crabs above the fire that Maddison made, she started thinking about all the delicious things you could eat in Miami, she stuck the rest of the crabs on the stick and watched them carefully cook above the fire. When breakfast ended Kalani laid in her bed made of leaves she wiped the memory from her brain and walked to Maddison’s room where she read her only left belonging a book with Bentley her bird on her shoulder “ can't wipe the memory away?” Maddison asked, “ yeah... I’ll go get some bananas now to make for lunch later on.” Kalani replied, “ok I'll finish off this chapter then help roast the banana skin.” Maddison exclaimed.

2 months and 2 weeks  earlier

Kalani stood at the front of the harbour about to board the ship, she had no second thoughts she wasn’t thinking about anything that could go wrong on the ship. Kalani excitedly aboard the ship and walked straight to her chosen room and silently looked out the window. She had fallen asleep and dozed off for around 2 hours, the boat was far from land and Kalani decided to go to the roof of the cannon which was the boat's name. She relaxed in the pool, it was only this other girl her age and Kalani on the roof, they minded each others business until the boat came to a heavy stop. The girl and Kalani flung to one side of the tilted boat. The girls asked each other what to do while they stood at the end of the roof. The captain confirmed that the boat hit a massive rock and that it was very hard to see. There was nothing that could help them save ourselves at the top of the cannon, the girls ran down to the last floor and ran to the fast drowning balcony. There was a small boat packed with a majority of survival foods, Kalani ran to the boat and pushed the emergency ramp button. They got the boat in the water just as the boat submerged. From there on we treated each other as sisters.


Kalani came out of the flashback and thought to herself “how did I get here?” she said. Maddison was making a fire for lunch, “are the crabs ready!” she yelled from a few meters away, “u-ur-urm y-yes they certainly are!” Kalani yelled. When lunch was finished Maddison asked Kalani if she wanted to take a walk “yeah… sure….that's f-f-fine.” Kalani replied hesitantly “Great because we are going now!” Kalani and Maddison took a great walk in the forest. Just as they were in the middle of their walk they heard rustled and footsteps in the bush, “what was that?” they both said, “hello… hi … a-an-anybody there!” they said “YES!” a loud voice said from the distance. They got to meet the strange voice, turns out her name is Luna and she is a great builder, Maddison and Kalani were so happy they met her.
